How to Use a Broom

Brooms are handy to have around. They can be used for a variety of tasks and they come in a few different forms. The most common is a broom with a handle and bristles. You can also get a broom vacuum or a broom that is attached to a dustpan.

Step 1, Sweep your floors -- this is the most common way to use a broom. Whenever you drop food getting out your broom and dustpan to clean it up will save you time later. The more you clean up when things get messy, the easier to keep up with the housework.

Step 2, Clean up kitty litter. When your cat spills his kitty litter out of the box and onto the floor, a broom will come in handy. Rather than dragging out your vacuum cleaner, you can use your broom and dustpan to clean up the mess.

Step 3, Get those cobwebs off your ceiling. The long handle of the broom comes in handy to get rid of cobwebs from your ceiling or in corners that are not easy to reach. Brooms can reach those hard places easier than other cleaning devices.

Step 4, Remove the leaves and dirt from your patio, deck or porch. All surfaces that are not carpeted make excellent places to use your broom. The nicest part of using your broom on your outside areas is you don't have to pick up the remains--just sweep them off the surface.

Step 5, Find other uses for your broom. Even in carpeted area, it is sometimes easier to use your broom then dragging out your vacuum. Bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and other uncarpeted areas are the best places to use your broom, but don't overlook any place that you may find a use for your broom.
